Okay......so I've been working on this project for longer then I'd like to admit. It's not perfect, but I'm sure as I go along with another one.....it can only get better. Here are the pictures....I just finished and it's still wet. I found Mod Podge works best to keep it in place.

I seen this new tutorial on Splitcoasters and had to try it. John is going to see Grandma Two Shoes (Imholte) tomorrow and I thought she would like a card. I really like how this card turned out....plus how the blocks stand out.

Since the last time I posted about the clipboard, I have finished it and put it on my Etsy webpage. I am working on a smaller one and then a personalized one. Here are the rest of the pictures.

I've seen different clipboards that have been taken from plain old brown and turned them into decorated cute clipboards. I've been looking for different things to make for a craft booth that I want to attend this summer and for my etsy website.
I only bought one clipboard from Walmart, because I wasn't quite sure of what I was getting myself into. I had my husband help me make a template for the clipboard. I've seen where they have just cut a rectangle around the clip and the. The ribbon hid the cut, but I'm on the anal side and wanted it to wrap around the clip.
I went to the local craft store in town and bought some paper and mod podge.
When I started, I painted the entire board and then tried to slide the paper up. That did not work very well. Next time I will slide the paper under the clip and then put on the mod podge. Once I had painted underneath the board, I painted the top of the paper to make it stronger. I let it dry for quite awhile. Then I started the sanding process. I sanded around the sides of the board to make it nice and smooth and also to get the extra paper off. Here is what it looks like so far.
I also learned that if you use thick cardstock, it doesn't sand very well.
This as far as I got today. More to come! Need to work on the back and the ribbon. Stay tuned.

My husband informed me that he needed a card for our neighbor who we get our cows from. His mom passed away. Do you think I was prepared???? Your right......nope! I found this sketch on another blog and thought I would try it out. Here it what I came up with. Hope you enjoy!

Peyton has wanted a sleeping bag for sometime and if you ever go to the store, they are expensive. So....I went online and found a tutorial on how to make one. In the process of making it and my husband helped me, there was probably a few choice words said. I worked on this at night after Peyton went to bed. Let's just say Peyton loves it and I'm glad I made it. The instructions that I found said to use fleece on the top and inside of the sleeping bag. Peyton is obsessed with Thomas the Train and the only fabric I could find was the fabric that wasn't fleece. I did put fleece inside. So, with that said, three broken needles and a broken machine...I had to turn to my wonderful neighbor to help me sew the bottom shut and one my sewing along the side. It probably wouldn't have been such a panic mode if Peyton's birthday wasn't the next day. So, without further due here it is.......
I tried to lay in it, but they kicked me out...lol

This year for John's birthday instead of the normal going out and buying something, I wanted to make something. What better place to start searching for something then Pinterest. This project consists of a 6 pack of empty clear bottles. It can be cream soda bottles or hit up your local liquor store and see if they will give you six clear bottles and a holder. Make sure to wash the bottle in hot soapy water and make sure to get the labels off. I left the bottles dry over night.
The first thing I did was buy some spray paint. You can pick pretty much any color you. Just remember if you buy a lighter color you might be putting on more then one coat of paint. Let's take a look..
Once the box was dry, I begin using tape to decorate the box. You can use tape or you can use scrapbook paper. For my first time, I though I would use the tape.
I covered the back and front.
Once I decorated the box I worked on the bottles.
Next I took the 6 empty bottles and started filling them with things he liked.
Then, I moved back to the box and put the label on. Here you can put pretty much anything you want.

Peyton is in kindergarten now and not only do I feel like I'm getting old, but one of my babies is growing up. I wish they could stay little a and cuddly longer then they do. I was asked to take pictures and video tape parts of the concert. Granted we all know I would have taken pictures. I am sharing with you now first off are the pictures and than I taped two different parts. Hope you enjoy!
John and I have been so busy that we forgot his grandma's 80th birthday. So, I am putting a card together for her and an envelope. It's so much easier when you can make your own envelopes and not have the cost of that or worrying about finding the right size. I had this really cute turtle stamp set that we used at a workshop. It had been since 2010 since the workshop. Needless to say, I tore my craft room apart looking for it.
It's been awhile since I've made cards. I have seemed to switch into making gifts, but I still love making cards. This is how this one turned out.

I'm always looking for new ideas on different types of gifts to make. I'm also trying to come up with many different ideas for a craft fair that I want to be in. I came across the diaper trike and let me tell you after reseraching it, there are many ways you can make these. This was my first time making one, so it wasn't quite perfect, but it did the trick. The supplies you will need are size 1 or 2 diapers, ribbon, rubber bands, baby bottle, receiving blankets, bibs and socks. You can also put a bear on it. I took pictures along the way just to show you how I completed it. The first step was making the wheels. I used 15 diapers for the back wheels and you could techniqually use as many as you want as long as your front tire is bigger. You start out with rolling a diaper as tight as you can and than begin wrapping diapers around it. You will use rubber bands to hold the diapers in place. You will have to use more than one. Don't worry, you will hide the rubber bands with ribbon.
Back two tires
Then I moved on to the front tire. I used 20 diapers for the front wheel. Next time, I might experiment with different amounts.
I covered up the rubber bands with ribbon. I used Scor tape to hold the ribbons down. I've also seen people use safety pins.
Next, I started to put the trike together. You use the receiving blankets to hook the wheels together.
You run the blanket through the front tire and than put one side of each of the blanket into the back tires. Now, this is where I used a safety pin to hold the blanket together. Make sure you pull it tight so the tires don't move.
Front View
You take the next receiving blanket and put it through the front tire. It will stick up in the air. Next, you will slide a bib over to make a front fender. With the other bib, you will snap around the front to make a back fender. Now, put the bottle in between the blanket and than put rubber bands around it to form bunny ears. You will tie ribbon around that to hide the rubber bands.

I ended up pinning the bear down, because I couldn't get it to stay. It seems like bears are hard to find when it's not a holiday season.
